A New Christmas Tradition is Born!
Have you read Christmas Jars by Jason F Wright; a quick to read little book that packs a huge punch of inspiration; so much so that, this year, I’ve decided to start my own Christmas jar tradition.
As the story goes, a newlywed couple started tossing coins into a jar to purchase Christmas gifts for each other. When it was time to shop, they split the stash vowing to only buy gifts with those funds, no matter how small the amount; a tradition they carried throughout their married life. One year, their young daughter gave the coin filled jar, all the money the family had saved to buy gifts that Christmas, to someone in need sitting on the sidewalk outside their bank as they were going in to exchange the coins for bills. This is where the dominoes began to fall and a story unfolds that will melt your heart and inspire you to start a Christmas jar of your own.
If you have people on your list that you usually give a gift card or check to every Christmas, may I suggest you package it in a jar with a copy of Jason Wright’s book? Who knows, you may start a domino effect of your own! There’s no telling how many lives will be blessed with the simple gift of one jar and one small book.
Read the book, with a box of Kleenex, and you will find yourself looking for the perfect jar and paying for small items with a dollar bill instead of using the change that is already weighing down your wallet or pocket. I can’t wait to see who God chooses to put in my path as the recipient of my Christmas jar next year and every year from this day forward.

What a lovely idea! We have a daughter getting married this summer and I’d love to pass this along to her!
Maybe you can include a special jar in her shower gift!!
